JW Fishers CT-1 Cable Tracker

JW Fishers Cable Tracker 1 (CT-1) system is expertly designed to locate and track buried power and communications cables, whether on land or underwater. It not only locates and tracks cables but also identifies faults or breaks. An ROV mounted version (CT-1R) is available. The system includes a Signal Injector control box and a Cable Tracker Probe. The Signal Injector attaches to an exposed cable part on land, inducing a 25 Hz or 1,024 Hz signal. The operator uses the Cable Tracker Probe to follow the cable's length and receive the signal.

Choose Your Frequency

The 25 Hz signal is initially used for long-distance cable detection. Once located, the 1,024 Hz frequency precisely pinpoints the cable's exact location. For power cables, the Probe can detect the 60 Hz (USA) or 50 Hz (Europe) AC voltage line without the Signal Injector. A switch on the Probe allows frequency selection. The system is effective enough to track cables in shallow water from a small boat.

Easy and Intuitive Operation

The operator sweeps the probe's nose in the water to receive the signal. Once located, the cable can be tracked from the surface, with divers deployed if precise pinpointing is needed.

Standard Power Options

The Probe operates for 12 hours on six internal AA rechargeable batteries. The system includes 120 vac and 12 v dc battery chargers. A 220/120 voltage converter and 220 volt charger are available for 220 vac power supply operation.
