Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 5 Watt Standard Versus Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 12 Watt Standard and Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 12 Watt Advanced

With over 200 years of creating solutions for measurement and surveying, Leica Geosystems now brings the latest Swiss technology to the world of utility detecting and tracing. Leica provides precise and accurate instruments and software, trusted by professionals around the world. As part of Hexagon, Leica offers accuracy, technology, and service with over 20,000 employees working in 50 countries worldwide.

What’s the Difference between the Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 5 Watt Standard, 12 Watt Standard, and 12 Watt Advanced?

Utility professionals continue to face new challenges when detecting and tracing underground. With multiple lines running in parallel, more underground obstructions, and increasing density and complexity of pipes and cables, getting the most precise information possible is more important than ever. Professionals need the right tools to locate, map, and survey underground utilities.

Fortunately, with the ULTRA, Leica has developed the most technologically advanced, precise utility tracing system. Featuring intelligent signal processing, flexible operation modes, selectable antenna, and customized frequencies, the ULTRA offers the most accurate results even in the most challenging conditions.

Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 5 Watt Standard

This first model in the Leica ULTRA line-up still offers the essential features of the ULTRA series and provides plenty of power for most applications. All ULTRA models feature a large, clear, backlit LCD screen, custom frequencies, and a built-in compass. Designed for everyday use in challenging conditions, the ULTRA has IP65 protection against shock, water, and dust.

Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 12 Watt Standard

The ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 12 Watt Standard has all the features of the 5 watt model with the addition of 7 watts of power for more complex and demanding jobs.

Leica ULTRA Utility Detection and Tracing System 12 Watt Advanced

The Leica ULTRA Advanced adds robust features to the base model. This includes the AIM (Ambient Interference Measurement) system, which monitors interference and other noise and recommends the best possible frequency. The advanced model also offers Offset Measuring, which helps in crowded conditions when a utility runs close to an obstruction and cannot be measured directly from above.

In addition, the ULTRA Advanced provides a state-of-the-art communication link between the receiver and transmitter. This allows control of the transmitter from the receiver saving the time of walking back and forth between the two.

These unique features make the Leica Ultra a powerful tool for modern utility work.
