LCD Display for Rechargeable Batteries will show:

Columns 1-4 (POOR): Battery is empty and should be recharged.
Columns 5-9 (FAIR): Battery has limited strength left and should be recharged.
Columns 10-18 (GOOD): Battery has adequate power.

LCD Display for Alkaline Batteries will show:

Columns 1-4 (POOR): Battery is empty and should be disposed properly.
Columns 5-9 (FAIR): Battery with limited strength.
Columns 10-18 (GOOD): Battery has adequate power.
